Description
This course is designed to immerse participants in the technological evolution and standard advancement of 5G and 5G-Advance, the development, policies, and ecosystem of the 5G industry as well as the typical application areas of 5G, such as energy, industry, education, healthcare, culture, and tourism, etc. It also covers deployment modalities through case studies in emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing, and big data. Moreover, this course provides general knowledge of the Handbook on Spectrum Monitoring and an introduction to the advanced techniques of using small satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for radio monitoring and interference geolocation. Additionally, participants will be introduced to the development experiences and practices of digital and network infrastructures globally and in China, including Industrial Internet Identity, broadband networks, and IPv6, and Computing Infrastructure.
This training is targeted towards senior managers, engineers and employees from Ministries, Regulators, government agencies, non-profit groups, academia that are interested in building their capacity in 5G development and application, new and emerging technologies, spectrum monitoring, and digital and network infrastructures. Other institutions and individuals that are interested in building their capacity in the above mentioned areas are also welcome to participate.
The participants are highly expected to have communication engineering educational background and basic knowledge of ICT, in particular mobile communication is the basic requirement for participants.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss technological evolution and standard advancement of 5G and 5G-Advance;
- Give general image of 5G application in different areas, such as energy, industry, health care, education, etc
- Outline the latest application trends of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, cloud computing, big data and their industrial development trends;
- Use the latest information on all aspects of monitoring contained in the Handbook on Spectrum Monitoring ;
- Explain the advanced techniques of utilizing small satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for radio monitoring and interference geolocation; and
- Apply experiences and practices for digital and network infrastructures deployment, including Industrial Internet Identity, broadband networks, and IPv6, and Computing Infrastructure.
This course will be delivered using face-to-face training methodology, which is defined as follows:
- The course will be conducted as three full days and lecture sessions in a face to face manner at Mingyue Lake Future Hotel, Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, China on 4th, 6th and 7th November, 2024. The participants will be given possibility to listen to the lectures and to interact with the tutor on the given topics.
- All presentations from face-to-face lectures/sessions on a given course day will be made available on the ITU Academy platform (before the start of that course day).
- Three quizzes will be assigned online on the ITU Academy platform on 4th, 6th and 7th of November 2024 respectively to check their knowledge and will remain open until 15th November to give participants adequate time to finish considering their travel time back to home.
- All information in the course be given in a timely manner (prior to the event) by the course tutor on the ITU Academy platform;
- Participants forum: participants and tutors will interact through academy forum to discuss relative topics and express their opinions;
- Assignment: Participants are required to submit assignment online on the ITU Academy platform after the training session to express their understanding of the given topic. This module will remain open until 22nd November, and tutors will grade the assignment at due time.
- On site visits: Participants will have the opportunities to visit the different Technology Exhibition Halls and top level ICT companies in Chongqing.
- Participants are welcome to attend the ITU-MIIT Annual High level Seminar which will be held on 7th November, 2024 to join the discussion of digital transformation across the world.
A total score higher than 70% is required to obtain the ITU certificate.
