The world population growth is increasing the demand for food production. Furthermore, the reduction of the workforce in rural areas and the increase in production costs are challenges for food production nowadays. Smart agriculture is a management concept focused on providing the agricultural industry with the infrastructure to leverage advanced technology especially the Internet of Things (IoT) â for tracking, monitoring, automating, and analyzing operations and realizing intelligent systems. This online training course aims to introduce participants to the Internet of Things and its abilities for enhancing and improving agricultural productivity and cost reduction. It will specifically focus on topics that address IoT usage for smart farming, smart water and energy management, and some use cases in this area.

Unless specified otherwise, all ITU Academy training courses are open to all interested professionals, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, economic status and other diverse backgrounds. We strongly encourage registrations from female participants, and participants from developing countries. This includes least developed countries, small island developing states and landlocked developing countries.
