Description
The overall goal of this course is to improve the skills of the learners in setting up and using formative and summative assessment tools in the ITU Academy Moodle platform.
ITU Academy platform users (staff, partners) with training coordinator roles, as well as tutors of training courses.
Basic computer skills. Knowledge of handling multimedia resources such as image and sound processing and knowledge of different digital file formats (e.g. png, jpeg, .ai, pdf, mp4, mp3, gif) will be an advantage. Ensure that you have already completed the ITU Academy course on "How to design and develop online learning courses".
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify formative and summative assessment tools in Moodle;

Design formative and summative assessments;

Create quizzes and set up automated grading in the platform;

Set up an assignment activity with feedback and choice tools;

Use forum and chat activities for course delivery.
This course is designed as a self-paced training. Module after module, the learner creates their own learning through specific tasks, while also being provided with access to numerous open multimedia resources.
The course consists of five modules, each containing an overview of the subject matter, followed by a quiz. The topics are distributed as follows:

Module 1 - Formative and summative assessment tools in Moodle

Module 2 - Setting up a quiz and automated grading

Module 3 - Setting up "assignments", "feedback" and "choice" activities

Module 4 - Setting up "forum" and "chat" activities

Module 5 - Grading tips and tricks for Moodle
Each section contains a knowledge check exercise that will enable the learner to assimilate the topics and move to the next section.
Upon completion of all modules, passing a final examination with 70% (at least 17 correct questions of 25 total) is required in order to obtain a completion badge for the training course. The learners are allowed a maximum of 3 attempts for the final quiz.
