This ITU MSIT Workshop on innovative technologies trainings with a focus on the following aspects:  transformative technologies regulatory aspects and emerging technologies including AI technology aspects and their societal impact, promotes the sharing of information on practical innovative technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, to address connectivity challenges.

Policymakers, regulators and academia.

- Knowledge of ICT networks technical, regulatory, and economic aspects

- An interest in learning about Artificial Intelligence and its applications. 

This training offers an opportunity to acquire and share knowledge on the application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, for regulators, policy-makers, and academics. The curriculum is designed to address technical, economic, and regulatory opportunities and challenges associated with connecting underserved populations.

9:00- 9:15 Session 1. Emerging Technologies and its impact to Digital Transformation

  • Summary: Introduction ITU/BDT AI-driven tools: ITU’s Connectivity Planning Platform (CPP); Retrieval augmented generation RAG/chatbot talking to ITU data on infrastructure; AI-models for ICT infrastructure detection based on satellite imagery. Review of key Emerging Technologies for the context of universal connectivity: 5G, LEO orbits; Cloud; Blockchain; Quantum computing. Opportunities and challenges associated with Emerging Technologies
