Technology should work for everyone, not just the digitally connected. ITU partners with communities worldwide to create open learning spaces and programmes that give people the practical digital skills they need to improve their livelihoods, access opportunities, and participate fully in the digital economy.

ITU Digital Transformation Centres Initiative
A joint initiative by ITU and Cisco to help countries strengthen the digital skills of citizens, especially in rural and underserved communities. Through its network of Digital Transformation Centres (DTCs), the initiative provides basic and intermediate digital skills training—from accessing online services to digital entrepreneurship, adapting its programmes to local languages, cultures, and economic opportunities.

Project: “Boosting digital skills through DTCs”
This project, launched as a partnership between ITU and the Government of Norway, supports the activities implemented under the DTC Initiative, particularly activities aimed at scaling the delivery of digital skills training – and hence digital literacy. The project will run until mid-2026.

EQUALS Badge
The EQUALS Badge programme offers girls and young women access, free of charge, to a high-quality, universally recognized digital skills training and certification programme through the ITU Academy platform.
