Description
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being adopted by organizations, creating challenges in establishing governance mechanisms to ensure responsible, transparent, and goal-aligned deployment.
This masterclass, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the AI Governance Practice Center (AIGPC) of the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) Thailand, provides insights into Thailand’s experience in developing and operationalizing AI governance approaches.
The session introduces the AI Governance in Action Framework, designed to help organizations translate high-level AI principles into actionable steps when adopting AI technologies. Participants will explore three key pillars: AI Governance Structure (Preparing the Organization), AI Strategy (Defining AI Strategy and managing AI Risk), and AI Operation (Governing operations and providing AI-related services). The session will demonstrate how organizations can identify AI use cases, assess risks, establish governance controls, and support responsible AI deployment.
Through presentations and a multi-sectoral panel discussion, the masterclass will showcase use cases from Thailand and insights across Education, trade and finance, featuring public and private perspectives. The masterclass will also highlight international best practices and AI governance approaches, including the OECD frameworks and the AI Risk Management Framework developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
By the end of the session, participants will gain insights into moving from AI experimentation toward structured and responsible AI governance within their organizations.
