The Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) in Ethiopia was launched on 9 May 2022, in Addis Ababa. The event, which was officially opened by the Minister of Innovation and Technology, H.E. Belete Molla, was attended by 55 people from universities and training institutions that will support the DTC as training delivery partners, as well as UN Agencies, development partners, private sector and non-governmental organizations.

ITU together with its partners, Cisco, Smart Zambia Institute and Airtel Zambia, joined forces to deliver digital skills training to 150 girls in underprivileged communities across three provinces in Zambia.
From 15-19 October 2018, the Rohde & Schwarz/ITU Academy workshop on "Implementation of radio monitoring systems according to ITU-R recommendations" was held in Singapore. Annually held at the Rohde & Schwarz headquarters in Munich since 2013, the ITU Academy reached Singapore shores for the first time to bring the joint workshop to participants in the Asia-Pacific. In partnership with ITU-D, ITU Academy is a workshop that the Monitoring and Network Testing division at Rohde & Schwarz conducts for regulatory agencies and institutions in developed and developing countries.
ITU and Wayfindr, a non-profit organization based in the United Kingdom, signed a cooperation agreement in August to deliver training on the design of audio-based navigation systems, which address the needs of persons with vision impairment.
From 25-29 June 2018, the Rohde & Schwarz/ITU Academy workshop on "Implementation of radio monitoring systems according to ITU-R recommendations" was held again at Rohde & Schwarz headquarters in Munich. Since 2013, this training workshop is repeatedly hosted by Rohde & Schwarz under the umbrella of ITU-D. The workshop is part of the ITU Academy training portfolio and conducted within the framework of a capacity-building partnership entered into between ITU and Rohde & Schwarz.
As part of the WSIS Forum events, ITU organized the Action Line C4 session on capacity building, which took place on Monday, March 19th. This year our theme was “Building ICT skills for social entrepreneurs”. The session was attended by around 50 participants.
The International Telecommunications Union [ITU] convened a workshop on Digital Marketing at Azalai Hotel, Abidjan, Ivory Coast, from 6th to 7th November 2017. The Workshop was kindly hosted by Ecole Superieure Africaine des TIC [ESATIC]. The Workshop was attended by 15 participants from 3 ITU CoEs in Africa. The workshop was facilitated by Mr Vikus Van de Merwe from Human Capacity Business Solutions (HCBS) ICT Learning Academy.
The ITU and PITA are organising a workshop on Enhancing access to submarine cables for Pacific Islands Countries from 31 July to 3 August 2017 at Holiday Inn, Suva, Fiji. The workshop is organized with support from the Department of Communications, Government of Fiji and the Department of Communications and the Arts (DoCA), Government of Australia.
ITSO, in collaboration with ITU, is organizing two face-to-face trainings on Satellite Communications for African countries, one for English speaking countries and the other for French speaking countries.
