This course will provide participants with an introductory exposure to the world of policymaking and electronics producer responsibility in the area of e-waste management, bringing together key learning materials based around the underpinning legal, financial and administrative components of well-functioning e-waste management systems.
The course explains the foundational concepts and components for e-governance interaction in information society. It starts with an introduction to what information society is and how it has established the environment for e-governance development and digital transformation in the public sector. Then, the main building blocks of e-governance, their aims, initiatives, and enablers are introduced, and how they are related to external subjects and domains.
The digital transformation in the public sector course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how digital technologies can revolutionize public service and governance. Through a mix of theoretical insights, practical examples from global initiatives and hands-on exercises, learners will explore strategies for implementing digital changes within their organization. This course aims to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to lead and participate in digital transformation effectively.
This training aims to develop a critical understanding of the challenges and critical success factors that need to be considered in considering the investment to spearhead the development of digital government. At a high level, the programme comprises three main areas of knowledge sharing and skills development organised into three major themes. Theme one establishes the contours of digital transformation by navigating and dissecting the social and economic value induced by the adoption and proliferation of digital technologies.
The summer school is a university-level course of one week, which takes place in the Netherlands, between 1-5 July 2024. The summer school aims at introducing the topics of sustainable digital transformation through different sub-topics, including but not limited to digital emerging technologies, digital farming and e-waste management. The summer school will allow participants to become familiar to the jargon surrounding digital transformation and sustainability issues through lectures and interactive sessions.
This course is primarily based on the ITU/World Bank digital regulation platform with a focus on the following aspects: digital transformation strategies, regulatory governance, evidence-based decision making, regulatory sandboxes, competition and economics (market analysis), infrastructure sharing, universal access and service financing efficiency, data and consumer protection, and transformative technologies regulatory aspects.
The past two years have shown that digital transformation is no longer optional. It is a central tool for public service delivery, citizen engagement, and catalysing new industries and opportunities. Digital is a key enabler for development in Small Island Developing States, with a crucial role in building their resilience and economic recovery.
The overall goal of this course is to improve the skills of the learners in setting up and using formative and summative assessment tools in the ITU Academy Moodle platform.
This course aims to improve skills in designing and developing online courses, consisting of 5 modules, including practical tasks and access to multimedia resources for converting face-to-face content into online courses.
Delivered from the perspective of a small state, this course will share Singapore's policy, regulatory and economic development approaches to digital transformation in the digital economy. It will focus on how small states can maximise opportunities in the digital economy (such as in the areas of data, digital utilities, and emerging technologies) while mitigating the accompanying risks. The course will also explore how governments can work together with the private and people sectors.
