GCBI Meetings

The main purpose of this meeting was to validate and endorse the list of recommended Centres of Excellence for the new 2015-2018 Cycle. The GCBI took into consideration all factors related to the selection and provided their recommendations regarding the final list of CoEs to be submitted to the Director, BDT.

The second meeting of the GCBI was held in Missenden Abbey, United Kingdom, from 21-22 October 2013. The meeting was at the kind invitation of the Chairman of the GCBI, also Chairman of the United Kingdom Telecommunications Academy (UKTA), Professor David Mellor.

The first meeting of the Group on Capacity Building Initiatives (GCBI) was successfully held in Geneva from 30 April to 01 May 2012. The meeting was attended by the representative experts of various regions and Human Capacity Building Division staff members at the ITU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
