Two beneficiaries of the Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) Initiative took center stage at the ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC), held in Baku in November 2025, sharing powerful personal stories as Telecommunication Development Bureau BDT4Impact advocates. Waqas Ramzan, a visually impaired trainer from Pakistan, and Bismark Kwame Hini, a trainer from Ghana, were featured during the Conference through dedicated interventions, video interviews and impact stories, highlighting their journeys and the transformative role of the DTC Initiative in their professional lives and communities where they work.

Drawing from their experiences as DTC trainers, both advocates spoke authentically about how access to digital skills and inclusive training environments has enabled them to empower others. Waqas Ramzan shared how assistive technologies and inclusive digital training have not only shaped his own career but are opening new opportunities for persons with disabilities in Pakistan. Bismark Hini highlighted the ripple effects of DTC training in Ghana, particularly in strengthening community capacity, supporting entrepreneurship and expanding digital literacy at the local level.

Their participation at WTDC 2025 offered concrete, human-centered examples of how the DTC Initiative translates policy into impact on the ground. By giving voice to trainers and communities directly benefiting from the programme, the two beneficiaries effectively represented the spirit and achievements of the DTC Initiative, demonstrating the power of digital skills and inclusion to drive sustainable development across diverse contexts.
