This course provides a high-level overview of IoT concepts from a mobile perspective, outlines the role IoT can play in enhancing the quality of life of citizens and explains the key differences between traditional telecoms services and the IoT world.
This course is designed for policymakers and regulators. The aim is to help them keep pace with the latest industry developments through training courses that highlight examples of regulatory best practice from around the world.

Describe the key difference between IoT and traditional telecoms services.

This course provides a high-level overview of IoT concepts from a mobile perspective, outlines the role IoT can play in enhancing the quality of life of citizens and explains the key differences between traditional telecoms services and the IoT world. It also discusses the implications that IoT has for policymakers and regulators. The course will include instructor-led presentations, the presentation of case studies and tutor/participants discussions.
The course includes an activity in which the participants have to match the applications of IoT to the possible connectivity technologies that may support a given application.
The students will have to attend both days of synchronous sessions via Zoom and submit a final project to the platform, this will be the only assignment the passing threshold is 80% to obtain the ITU certificate.
