This training is organized jointly by the International Telecommunication Union and Advanced Level Telecom Training Centre (ALTTC) - Centre of Excellence, India as part of the IoT training programme under the auspices of the ITU Centre of Excellence for Asia-Pacific region. The training will be delivered in English through the ITU Academy platform.

The training course is designed to understand IoT concepts, various communication technologies involved in IoT, IoT architecture and components, deployment strategies, ubiquitous connectivity planning for various advanced applications like smart cities, digital twins, smart home involvement of 5G in IoT. The training will also address the various challenges and security aspects involved in IoT deployment, especially in case of real time communication as well as real time designing.

It is focused on the aspects of broadband networks designing. Automated selection of the most appropriate solutions to build network using the Broadband Calculator online tool is considered. There is general consensus that IoT has enormous potential to deliver great impact on the economy and on society at large. Having a good grasp of the relevant technical aspects is a must for bringing this to fruition. This capacity building course aims to provide the audience with a better technical understanding of wireless solutions for IoT.
