DTC Morocco is conducting a digital literacy training for female students from rural communities

From 23 to 26 December 2024, the Agency for Digital Development (ADD), the Digital Transformation Centre in Morocco, delivered a digital skills training for 100 young girls residing at the “Dar Taliba” boarding school for female students in the R’hamna province, region of Marrakesh. The activity was implemented by ADD and aimed to equip the girls with job-ready digital skills. The training consisted of four workshops through which participants were taken through basic digital literacy courses provided by DTCI partners (Cisco, HP) and ADD. The sessions covered topics such as digital awareness, introduction to cybersecurity, as well as digital marketing through social media. In an effort to offer tailored training interventions that meet the age, educational background and language proficiency of the learners, the course materials were customised and translated into the local language in advance of the training. In 2025, ADD will conduct similar workshops to extend this learning opportunity to two additional cohorts of female students residing in “Dar Taliba” boarding schools located in other provinces. These activities are supported by the project “Boosting digital skills through Digital Transformation Centres”, funded by the Government of Norway and ITU.
