The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (ARCTEL) signed a cooperation agreement to implement joint activities focusing on capacity building and education. The agreement was concluded at the 8th Communications Forum of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), held in Guinea Bissau on 15-16 February 2017, at which most of the countries that will benefit from the Agreement were in attendance.
Following the launch of the online programme in Communications Management between ITU and UKTA, a flexible program and delivery schedule has been designed in partnership with The University of Rwanda (an ITU centre of excellence).
Three manuals have been developed to guide users of the ITU Academy Platform, to help them understand the platform and its functionalities, their access rights, as well as their roles and responsibilities.
New communities have been created in the ITU Academy for the Steering Committees of the Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in each region. This feature has been introduced as part of the action items from the Second Steering Committee meetings held between November 2015 and January 2016.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO) are organizing a face-to-face training on VSAT and Satellite Systems: Broadband over Satellite for Arab countries to be held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, from 13 to 17 March 2016. The training will be hosted by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Sultanate of Oman.
