As COVID-19 pandemic shocks and effects continue to put pressure on increased demand use of ICTs and its services, more Member States would like to strengthen various mechanisms aimed at ensuring that the ICT devices available and in use in the market are in compliance with the international, regional and national applicable standards.

ITU would therefore like to request NCA (National Communications Authority of Ghana) together with ITU-BDT staff to deliver virtual training to Africa group in establishing labs, processes in building C&I (Conformity and Interoperability) laboratories and associated specifications and estimated costs of selected laboratories. The training will also include ITU activities on C&I (Conformity nd Interoperability) with specific emphasis on Pillars 3 & 4 of the C&I program including updates on CITP (Conformity and interoperability Thematic Priority).

The overall objective of the workshop is to enhance capacity of Member States in Africa to establish Conformance and Interoperability Policy and Regulatory Frameworks, to build labs, to effectively test telecommunication equipment for conformance and interoperability and to contribute to achievements of sustainable developments Goals.
