The SMTP is designed for individuals within ICT and telecommunications sectors who wish to enhance their knowledge and competence in the area of spectrum management. This includes engineers and managers working in telecommunications regulatory authorities, ICT service providers and other ICT stakeholders. The aim of this course is to provide students with spectrum engineering foundations in order to be able to perform link budget calculations, interference analysis, and provide understanding of 3D propagation modelling for radio communications services frequency planning.
The effect of radio transmissions on health has been studied extensively, leading to international standards for network antennas and exposure limits for workers and the public. Despite the ever-growing body of scientific knowledge, many people continue to be concerned about electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and their impact on health.

The purpose of this workshop is to train the staffs from the Arab countries who are using the SMS4DC on spectrum management using Spectrum Management System for Development Countries (SMS4DC Edition 5.1 and above). Noting that there will be a day dedicated to customizing the software for Libyan delegation on 22 December 2022.
5th Generation (5G) network is currently in implementation phase. The implementation of key 5G radio technologies such as millimetre wave, beamforming and small cell requires specific guidelines, standards and measurement and methodology if compared to legacy technology. Meanwhile, misunderstanding of the public regarding human exposure to 5G EMF results in public resistance to 5G roll-outs.
This course covers the core functions of spectrum management and spectrum engineering techniques and is mainly targeted towards the staff of National Spectrum Management agencies. This course covers the core functions of spectrum engineering, including emerging radiocommunication technologies, spectrum efficiency, coordination procedure, and frequency management regulation.
