HP LIFE ToT July2024

In partnership with HP Foundation and the UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD), ITU conducted a second train-the-trainer session on the HP-LIFE “Business and ICT skills” global programme for DTC trainers. The first session was held in July 2023. Throughout the training, trainers had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and know-how to deliver the HP-LIFE programme.
The training was conducted online over the course of three weeks between 11 and 26 July 2024. It brought together 22 (11 female) trainers from 11 DTCs who will be responsible for delivering training to citizens and members of communities and to train additional trainers in their respective contexts to also be able to provide quality learning experiences for citizens. Throughout six interactive sessions, participants became acquainted with HP-LIFE courses ranging from ICT-enabled entrepreneurship to communication and presentation skills. They also learned about effective tools and methodologies to deliver those courses within their centres, while adapting their pedagogical approaches to the needs of their beneficiaries. The training concluded with a final simulation exercise through which each facilitator delivered a course of his/her choice.
Since January 2023, the HP-LIFE programme reached over 2,400 new learners through the DTCs, with more than 5,000 enrolments and an average course completion rate of 80%. In August 2024, ITU will organise booster sessions, in English and French, which will further deepen the knowledge and skills of trainers.
This activity was conducted as part of the Project “Boosting Digital Skills through Digital Transformation Centres”, funded by ITU and the Government of Norway.
