From July to September 2025, the DTC in Senegal (Concept) successfully rolled out a basic digital skills training programme for citizens, with support from ITU and Norway through the project “Boosting digital skills through Digital Transformation Centres”. The activity was implemented across seven (7) training centres in various locations, namely Mermoz, Ziguinchor, Guinguineo, Ouonnck, Tambacounda, Pire, and Foundiougne, and was delivered in an effort to scale Concept’s capacity development interventions, following a train-the-trainer programme conducted earlier in 2025. Over the course of five days, 560 participants (80 per training site, divided into cohorts) of whom 50% were female, were taken through the introductory modules of the ST Foundation, Cisco, and HP-LIFE learning curricula. The courses covered key topics such as computer basics, digital awareness, and AI for beginners and were delivered by two locally based instructors (per centre) who received refresher training sessions on the Cisco and HP-LIFE platforms, prior to the start of the programme.
