Following the train-the-trainer programme implemented in April and May 2025, Bridge the Digital Divide Sierra Leone (BDD-SL), the DTC in Sierra Leone, conducted a digital literacy training programme targeting citizens with very little to no digital skills competencies. The activity took place from July to September 2025 across the five districts of Kambia (North-West region), Magburaka (North-East region), Bo (South-East region), Waterloo (Western rural region) and Freetown, where the train-the-trainer programme was previously held. It was funded by ITU and the Government of Norway, through the Project “Boosting digital skills through Digital Transformation Centres”. A total of 600 beneficiaries (120 per district) from underserved communities, of whom 40 per cent were female, successfully completed the programme. This 20-day extensive basic digital skills training covered some of the DTCI’s essential digital literacy modules from ST Foundation, Cisco, and HP-LIFE’s learning portfolio.
