Terms and Conditions for Training

General Terms and Conditions
for ITU Academy Trainings

This page states the terms and conditions on which the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) supplies trainings, courses, workshops and events through the ITU Academy (collectively, “trainings”).  Each training participant (hereinafter “the participant”) reads these terms and conditions carefully and completely before registering for any training on the ITU Academy Website.  The participant should understand that by registering for any training, he/she agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. A copy of these terms and conditions should be printed and kept for future reference.

1.  Registration for trainings

Registration for trainings can be made via the ITU Academy website available at the following link: https://academy.itu.int and by selecting a course

Details and description of each training, as well as the applicable training fees, if any, are included in the relevant training outline and are published on the ITU Academy website.

2.  Training Fees

The ITU Academy reserves the right to change the listed training fees without notice. The ITU Academy also reserves the right to refuse to provide trainings to any individual, subject to and in accordance with ITU’s applicable rules, regulations, practices and procedures.

3.  Methods of Payment

The training fees applicable to the training for which the participant has registered, must be fully paid (except for those trainings that are free of charge) before the start date of the training. This payment must be effected through one of the accepted methods described below:

3.1 Online credit or debit card payment

When registering for any training online, payment can be made by credit or debit card. The participant will then be re-directed to a secured payment portal where he/she will need to enter his/her credit/debit card information. This payment portal is run by an external company, DataTrans, which handles the online credit and debit card transactions in a secure, encrypted environment. DataTrans accepts Visa and Mastercard credit cards, and Maestro debit card. Payments will be made to the ITU Bank account set forth in paragraph 4.

3.2 Offline payment

Where it is not possible to make payment via the online system, the participant can select offline payment and he/she will be redirected to a page where  an invoice is generated.

On the basis of such invoice, the participant will transfer the training fees to the ITU bank account set forth in paragraph 4[NM1]  below.

When payment is made by bank transfer, it is compulsory to make reference to the course code ID reflected in the invoice.

Payments should be made in US dollars (USD). They may also be made in other currencies freely convertible into USD, provided that, when converted by the bank, the price of the service in USD is covered.  ITU does not accept letters of credit.

Once the bank transfer has been made, the participant should scan the bank confirmation form/deposit slip/bank order from the bank which shows the amount transferred and the bank details of the ITU account and upload it in the ITU Academy, under the “Offline Invoices” tab in the main menu. The participant is advised to notify the Human Capacity Building (HCB) Division at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. after he/she has uploaded the proof of payment.

Registration to any training will not be confirmed until full payment of the applicable training fees has been received by ITU prior to the start date of the training. The ITU Academy reserves the right to refuse participants to any training until payment for that training has been made and received in full.

In the event of a change to training fees, any training already paid in full will not be subject to an increase in price.

3.3 Other methods of payment

Where there are constraints in direct payments due to national regulations, alternative payment arrangements shall be made by the ITU. In this respect, the participant should contact the relevant ITU Regional Office directly.
