0945-1005: Session 2: Roles of Policy maker and regulator in IPv6 migration
- Ashish Narayan, ITU
Objective: To develop an understanding of what role the policy maker and regulator should play to promote IPv6 migration, Internet infrastructure secuirty, including any policy and regulatory incentives.
0900-1030: Session 7: Case study – how we protect our infrastructure
- Matsuzaki Yoshinobu, IIJ, Japan
- Sharing their experience of deploying security mechanism into their IPv4 infrastructure networks - Lessons learnt - What security practices are used to secure IPv4 environment (devices, data, services (email/DNS), routing)? - What was learned from operational experience (equipment issues, ambiguous standards)?
1100-1230:Session 8: What’s the same and what’s the difference: IPv4 and IPv6
- Merike Kaeo, Doubleshot Security, USA
- IPv4 and IPv6 are both Internet Protocols so they share many same issues. Since IPv6 is a new protocol, as many other new technologies, it will come with new threats thus we have new mitigation solutions. This session will cover issues shared by both IPv4 and IPv6 then explore issues new to IPv6.
