DESCRIPTION:
The ITU, Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam and Viettel, is organizing a training workshop on “ Mobile Value Added Services”, from 10~11th October 2011 in Hanoi, Vietnam .
This workshop has been developed as a part of the ICT Applications Programme within the framework of the ITU Centre of Excellence for the Asia Pacific Region and will take place at MELIA HANOI HOTEL, Hanoi, Vietnam . It is addressed to staff from policy makers, regulators, corporate executives and managers, i.e. middle-level managers, administrators and officials dealing with Mobile Value Added Services.

Objective: To introduce the international business trends in development and penetration of m-VAS
1115-1215: Session 2: M-VAS Development and Trends (Continued)
Surviving the Internet Tsunami - Importance of service convergence in the new Telco landscape to stay ahead
1400-1500: Session 3: M-VAS Development and Trends (Continued)
1500-1530: Session 4: m-VAS Technology Trends
Objective: To understand the technologies being adopted by mobile service providers in delivering value added services over 2G and 3G networks. The session will also explain the upcoming future technologies in this area.
1545-1745: Session 5: M-VAS Policy & Regulatory Trends
Objective: This session will deal with highlight some of the policy and regulatory issues concerning deployment of mobile Value Added Services.
0830-1015: Session 6: Commercial Applications on M-VAS
Objective: To introduce experiences on deployment of commercial applications on mobile (e.g. SMS, MMS, Video Services, Games etc.) including detailed case studies .
1030-1200: Session 7: Commercial Applications on M-VAS (Continued)

1330-1445: Session 8: Developing an ecosystem of M-VAS
Objective: During the session, the participants would work in groups to develop an ecosystem around M-VAS.
1445-1515: Session 9: Social Applications on M-VAS
Objective: To introduce deployment of services such as m-Government.
1530-1730: Session 10: M-VAS Value Chain
Objective: To introduce the m-VAS value chain, the players at each level of value chain and their respective roles e.g. content providers, handset vendors, system integrators, application developers etc.
