ITU Regional Human Capacity Development Forum for the Americas
18-20 November 2009, Brasilia, Brazil
The objective of the ITU Regional Human Capacity Development Forums is to promote excellence in human capacity development in the information and communications technology (ICT) and telecoms sector. This Forum provides a unique opportunity to i) debate human capacity development needs in the ict/telecoms public and private sectors; ii) discuss best practices in human and institutional capacity building;iii) exchange national experiences of policy and regulatory authorities in human capacity building; iv) network with human capacity development experts; v) discover learning and development opportunities in the Americas region provided by ITU; vi) analyze the impact of ICTs on confronting the economic downturn in the Americas; and vii) develop regional initiatives for cooperation amongst public and private sector stakeholders involved in learning and development.
